Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr dives into her rookie season as a brakeman for one of two Australian women’s bobsled teams in the 2022 IBSF World Cup.
Along with her current run as the most dominant CrossFitter in the sport’s history, Tia has already competed in the Summer Olympics as a weightlifter (Rio 2016) and won gold in the Commonwealth Games (Queensland 2018).
With the opportunity to join Team Australia as brakeman for pilot Ashleigh Werner, Tia’s unwavering competitive drive propels her into and through a breakout bobsleigh season
Tia uses her experience and knowledge to amplify her efforts in the bobsled, a different style of training and a new set of physical demands. “Everything they’re saying makes so much sense, it’s just about trusting in it.” , says Tia.
Coming into an already short season, there is a lot of work to be done. Tia won’t give any less than all her effort to her and the team’s success.
